April 30, 2021: Celebrate with us tomorrow

Here we have a local restaurateur with a bunch of flowers sent to commemorate 10 years of slinging burgers, piles & fish tacos. (Thanks Mom!) (And thanks Durham for your years of support!) We hope you’ll come by tomorrow so we can show our gratitude and appreciation with a free plate of barbecue and a friendly “Hey, what’s shaking?”

Once again Durham, thank you!

11:00- whenever the food runs out

We’re calling it the Geer Street Pig Out. We’ll have Carolina barbecue, veggie & vegan sides, music by John Howie & Nathan Golub, and an art opening for the “Life in Quarantine” mural project. Food is free, and we encourage you to come on down, eat while wandering the neighborhood, check out the mural, listen to some music. Just come over and have a good old time!

Ten years! We honestly feel blessed to have lasted that long in an endeavor as unpredictable and unrelenting as the restaurant business. Our city has changed so much over the course of this decade. So many more people, so many more restaurants, so many more square, ugly apartment buildings! We have tried to remain steady through that time. It’s been our goal to always be the relaxed, friendly, neighborhood spot where you could feel normal, no matter who you are. Hopefully we’ve succeeded at that, hopefully we’ll go for another 10 years.

April 19, 2021: More spring goodness

More spring goodness over here! Local asparagus courtesy of Meadow Lane Farm, lightly grilled, topped with a sunny side up farm egg, grated Parmesan & (optional) house cured pancetta. This is an Italian spring classic, and each element here is at its absolute best quality.
